A Different Beginning
Vintage Velvet was founded in Mumbai in 2019 by Dr. Fatima Vadhariya and Ahad Vadhariya.
Before entering fashion, Fatima worked in dentistry and Ahad in pharmacy. Their careers offered stability, but the demanding schedules also left them with less time for what mattered most—their family.
Vintage Velvet began with the belief that professional ambition and a meaningful family life should be able to grow together.
The Turning Point
The journey started modestly through jewellery dropshipping, with no established background in fashion retail.
A defining moment arrived when Fatima and Ahad discovered a collection of scarves that felt different from what was commonly available. They took a chance on 200 scarves across just 10 designs.
The entire collection sold out within four days.
That response revealed a genuine demand for distinctive, premium-looking accessories that remained approachable. It also gave Vintage Velvet the confidence to grow beyond its beginnings.

Today, Vintage Velvet brings together scarves and stoles, handbags, jewellery, hair accessories, watches, sunglasses, jewellery boxes and thoughtfully selected gifting pieces.
